OnePlus N300 to launch in November with 33W Fast charging

OnePlus has revealed a few details about its upcoming Nord N300, starting with a spec rarely seen in entry-level mid-range models: 33W fast wired charging. Company spokesman Spenser Blank said the device will be available in North America next month, where it will take over the mantle from the OnePlus N200 model, which has been selling very well.

The company is only providing some preliminary details about the N300 and has not revealed the price situation. But judging by the N200’s $239 suggested retail price, it shouldn’t change much at all. Generally speaking, phones with price tags under $300 rarely offer fast charging – in fact, OnePlus’ $299 Nord N20 is likely the only phone in the Other category that includes fast charging. That’s faster than most flagship phones: the iPhone 14 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S22 and Pixel 7 Pro all charge slower than 33W. Of course, OnePlus’ own flagships charge much faster than 33W, including an incredible 125W charging speed on the 10T.

The N300 will use a MediaTek processor, the first OnePlus device in North America to do so, and, like the N200, it will have a screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz (OnePlus had announced earlier that it would not be releasing a sub-90Hz model), while 60Hz displays are more common in the sub-$300 range.

Entry-level phones tend to focus on features like extra-long battery life or huge screens. This usually comes at the expense of performance, and selling points like fast charging rarely come into play. While OnePlus’ recent high-end phones have been a bit underwhelming as far as features and price are concerned, its recent Nord line of budget phones have been more successful instead. The N20, in particular, is a streamlined-based device with a better-than-average OLED screen that also includes fast charging.
