OmniVision Releases Automotive SoC for Automotive 360-Degree Surround View and Rear View Cameras

0

On January 4th, OmniVision released a new 1.3-megapixel sensor for automotive 360-degree surround view systems (SVS) and rear view cameras (RVC) at the CES 2023 International Consumer Electronics Show. OX01E20 System-on-Chip (SoC).

OmniVision says the OX01E20 brings high-performance LED flicker suppression (LFM) and 140db high dynamic range (HDR) capabilities. In addition, the OX01E20 is pin-for-pin compatible with previous-generation 1.3-megapixel automotive SoCs, enabling rapid upgrades to higher performance.

According to reports, in a single 1/4-inch optical format package, the OX01E20 is equipped with a 3-micron image sensor, an advanced image signal processor (ISP), and a full-featured distortion correction/perspective correction (DC/PC) and on-screen display (OSD), enabling designers to achieve small size, low-light performance, low power consumption, and low cost at the same time, while the OX01E20 can only use a single PCB board, which is conducive to improving the reliability of the camera module.

OmniVision claims that the OX01E20 complies with the ASIL-B safety standard and has been sampled. It will be put into mass production in June 2023. The key features are as follows:

140dB HDR and LFM at the same time;

Good HDR and LFM performance over the entire temperature range of the car;

Advanced ISP including DC/PC and OSD;

Adopt a-CSP technology, which can realize small size solution;

low power consumption;

Based on OmniVision’s PureCel Plus architecture, which has good low light sensitivity and provides a high signal-to-noise ratio.
