Olympus M.Zuiko 300mm F4.0 IS PRO Lens Ver1.6 Firmware Released: Improved Operational Stability

0

Olympus 300mm F4.0 IS PRO lens recently ushered in the Ver1.6 firmware upgrade to improve the stability of the operation of the lens after hibernation recovery. Users can upgrade through OM Workspace software.

The Micro 4/3 System M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO Super Telephoto Lens (hereinafter referred to as M.Z 300mm PRO), the first telephoto lens in the history of the M.ZUIKO family to incorporate an IS stabilization system, the M.Z 300mm PRO features 5-axis simultaneous stabilization technology for a powerful 7.5 stops of safe shutter compensation. Combined with the compact and lightweight lens design, it is suitable for nature photography and helps realize the dream of ultra-telephoto shooting with a handheld camera.

17 sealed positions can effectively protect the body from dust and water droplets, with dust and splash-proof function.

High-resolution lenses in the PRO series

1、Super ED lens; 2、HR lens; 3、E-HR lens

Includes 3 Super ED (Ultra Low Dispersion) lenses, 3 HR (High Refractive Index) lenses and one E-HR (Ultra High Refractive Index) lens to effectively correct chromatic and aberration problems that tend to occur in telephoto lenses.

When more accurate resolution is required, shutter reduction mode or silent mode is recommended.

New lens coating: Z Nano Coating

  1. air layer; 2. nano coating; 3. incident light; 4. reflected light; 5. evaporative deposition layer; 6. lens
The new coating technology, Z nano-coating, can effectively reduce ghosting and glare for clearer, higher quality pictures. By adding a nano-level coating and an air layer in the middle of the lens, such a coating can reduce surface reflection and achieve a refraction index similar to that of air.

Highly accurate, slim lens manufacturing process allows for lighter focusing lenses. This facilitates high-speed, precise lens actuation and a compact size for the entire product. When used in conjunction with the OM SYSTEM OM-1, high-speed autofocus of 400ms can be achieved.

The closest focusing distance for macro at the telephoto end is 1.4 m (1.15 m from the front of the lens), and a maximum picture magnification of 0.48x is possible.

Handheld 1200mm super-telephoto shooting is possible with the twofold rangefinder MC-20. When used with the 1.4x rangefinder MC-14, handheld 840mm telephoto shooting is possible.

The manual clutch mechanism allows for an immediate change of shooting style, and changing the focus ring allows for setting changes without changing the grip.

1: Manual clutch mechanism: Pull the focus ring toward the photographer to switch to the preset focus position. This instantly shifts from AF to preset focus shooting.2: Lens barrel switch: The focus limit switch (full, far, near), anti-shake switch (ON / OFF), and L-Fn (custom function) button are next to the lens barrel, and these controls enable one-touch setting changes.
The silent shooting mode and super telephoto lens allow users to shoot silently in situations where it is difficult to reach the target, such as concerts.

Here are a variety of optional accessories

MC-14, M.Zuiko Digital 1.4x Range Extender Lens

The MC-14 extends the focal length of the lens by up to 1.4x This extended range lens is a 3-group, 6-element construction (including an HR lens) encased in a compact metal material that offers low image quality loss while providing dust, splash and freeze protection. Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO.

MC-20, M.Zuiko Digital 2.0x Range Extender Lens

The MC-20 is a high-performance rangefinder that doubles the focal length while effectively utilizing the optical performance of the prime lens, such as the M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO, for ultra-telephoto shooting up to 1200mm (35mm equivalent), and up to 0.96X (35mm equivalent frame magnification). Its lightweight and compact form factor, combined with an overall weight of 150g and reliable dust, splash, and freezeproof performance, makes it highly adaptable to the environment.

PRF-ZD77 PRO Protective Filter

Protective filter with black-edged glass plus Zero coating to reduce reflection ghosting and haloing; black aluminum frame polished to reduce glossiness and prevent unwanted reflections.

EE-1 Sight

Externally mounted sight for ultra-telephoto, the EE-1 is splash-proof with a side sliding lever opening mechanism. Uses coin cell batteries and can be used as long as a hot shoe is available. The position and brightness of the mark can be adjusted for better framing when shooting distant targets.
