The free open-source streaming software OBS Studio recently released version 29.0.1 update, fixing several problems that existed in version 29.0.

OBS Studio 29.0.1 fixes an issue that could cause crashes when using Wayland and trying to use automatic scene switching on the Linux platform and also fixes an issue that prevented screenshots from being taken on X11.

This version also fixes an issue where the Noise Reduction Filter property could pop up with an “NVIDIA AUDIO Effects SDK is out of date” message if the SDK was not installed. It also fixes an issue where NVIDIA’s audio effects filter then crashes when uninstalling the SDK.

This update also fixes issues including a crash when starting the application when minimized, a bug in the custom FFmpeg output mode where RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol) was forcing certain encoders, and a bug where alpha was not output correctly when setting up the application to use the BGRA color format.

Open Broadcaster Software is a free and open-source cross-platform streaming and recording program developed by the OBS Project. The program supports Windows 8, MacOS 10.13, and Ubuntu 18.04+ operating system versions.
