NVIDIA gaming frame generation technology tested and is compatible with AMD FSR 2.0

0

NVIDIA has introduced a “Frame Generation” technology in DLSS 3 that uses AI to increase frame rates by generating additional high-quality frames while optimizing responsiveness with NVIDIA Reflex.

According to Igor’sLAB tests, this frame generation technology can be used with AMD FSR 2.0 and Intel XeSS, and may work even better.

NVIDIA DLSS frame generation requires the use of the new optical flow gas pedal in the GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs and the NVIDIA Tensor Core, so the RTX 4090 card is currently being tested.

AMD FSR 2.0 with Nvidia frame generation enabled improves 95 FPS at Ultra High-Performance settings and Intel XeSS improves 69 FPS at Performance settings and with Nvidia frame generation enabled. AMD FSR 2.0 works best with Nvidia frame generation, even at the same extreme frame rate as DLSS 3.0 when enabled. The best results with AMD FSR 2.0 with NVIDIA frame generation are even the same as DLSS 3.0 when it is turned on.

AMD announced its Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards last week and confirmed FSR 3.0 technology. This technology will be launched next year. According to AMD, FSR 3.0 will use a technology called Fluid Motion Frames, which seems to be very similar to Nvidia’s frame generation technology, and we can look forward to more graphics cards benefiting from this technology.
