Nvidia: Discord has been fixed to cause performance degradation of graphics cards

Nvidia said they recently fixed an issue that caused users to limit the performance of certain graphics cards when opening Discord in the background.

The patch will automatically download when you log in to Windows, so you don’t need to manually download graphics drivers or other software updates, according to the report.

Nvidia says that the issue affects cards like the RTX 3080 and RTX 3060 Ti, whose recent Discord update caused their GPUs to fail to reach their maximum frequency by about 200Mhz. This will undoubtedly cause PCs to experience a slight performance loss when running games.

According to Nvidia, the fix comes as an application profile update, but of course you can apply it manually until then, but manual configuration is relatively cumbersome, and you’ll need to at least download the profile manager and then export, edit and re-import the profile to do so.
