As promised earlier, Nubia has released its new Nubia flagship smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. The upgrade to the Nubia Z40 Pro has been coming out in the form of the Nubia Z40S Pro. The device also comes with a limited-time special edition, with a sci-fi looks.

Starting from the display, the device has got a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED panel with an FHD+ resolution 144Hz high refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, 100 per cent DCI P3 colour gamut, and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. The display has also got upgraded to narrower bezels. It is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset coupled with up to 18GB of RAM. The device will boot up on MyOS 12 which is based on Android 12.
As for the optics, it has triple rear cameras with a custom 35mm based 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 main camera coupled with a 50-megapixels ultrawide lens and an 8-megapixels periscope telephoto lens. Both the main camera and periscope lens are equipped with the support of OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). They also support Nubia’s NEOVision camera technology for an improved photography experience. On the front, we have a 16-megapixels selfie snapper.
It packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging and another variant with a 4600mAh battery and 120W fast charging support. It measures the dimension of 16.27 x 73.95 x 8.05mm and weighs around 205 grams. It has further dual stereo speakers with the support for DTS:X Ultra.
Nubia Z40S Pro pricing and variants
The 80W variant of the Nubia Z40S Pro comes in four different variants; 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB. It is priced at CNY 3,399 (~$503), CNY 3,699 (~$508), CNY 3,999 (~$592), and CNY 4,499 (~$666), respectively. As for the 120W variant, it comes in 12GB+512GB and 18GB+1TB configurations and is priced at CNY 4,299 (~$637) and CNY 6,699 (~$992). It will be available in Magic Green and Black shades colour variants.

There’s also a special which is named after the Chinese anime “Spirit Cage” and comes with a bundle of themed accessories and packaging. It comes in a single 12GB+256GB variant and is priced at CNY 4699 (~$696). The device will go on sale in China starting July 26th, 2022.
