Nubia Red Magic 7s series gaming device launched with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor; specifications, price

Gaming smartphone Nubia Red Magic 7s series has launched to succeed the Red Magic 7. In February 2022 Red Magic unveiled their new gaming device with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Now they have new devices to carry on from where the previous gaming device stopped. These new devices come with upgrades in the processor as well as a better cooling system.

ZTE Nubia Red Magic 7s series

The new Red Magic lineup that just went official comes with two models, a base and a Pro. The differences between these two gaming devices are obvious from their appearance. But, in terms of specifications and performance, both devices in this series share close similarities. As we know, ZTE is the owner of the Nubia gaming smartphone line. The Red Magic 7s Pro shares some similarities with ZTE’s latest flagship device.

Let us start with the specifications of the base model from this device line-up. This model comes with a smaller battery capacity and faster charging. Here are its specifications below.

  • Screen: 6.8-inch AMOLED with 165Hz refresh rate.
  • Processor: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. 
  • Storage: 8GB/128GB, 12GB/128GB, 12GB/256GB, and 16GB/512GB storage variants.
  • Main Camera: Triple setup with a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.
  • Front Camera: 8MP front-facing camera.
  • Battery: 4500mAh battery with 120W fast charge.
  • Operating System: Red Magic 5.5 running Android 12.
  • Biometrics: Under-display fingerprint sensor.
ZTE Nubia Red Magic 7s Pro

The Pro model improves on a few things such as battery capacity, charging speed, and storage. The Pro model adopts ZTE Axon 40 Ultras under-display camera sensor. This gives its screen display an infinite experience while gaming without any interruptions.

  • Screen: 6.8-inch AMOLED with 165Hz refresh rate.
  • Processor: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. 
  • Storage: 12GB/128GB, 16GB/512GB, and 18GB/1TB storage variants.
  • Main Camera: Triple setup with a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.
  • Front Camera: 8MP front-facing camera.
  • Battery: 5000mAh battery with 135W fast charge.
  • Operating System: Red Magic 5.5 running Android 12.
  • Biometrics: Under-display fingerprint sensor.

Both models come with active cooling to help keep the temperature down while gaming. According to ZTE Nubia, this cooling system is better on the Red Magic 7s Pro.

ZTE Nubia Red Magic 7s Pro Bumblebee edition

This was a Chinese launch event, so the devices in question are available in China. Possibly, ZTE will roll this series out to other regions in the coming months. But for now, let’s take a look at the colours and cost of each device in this series.

Starting with the Red Magic 7s, this model comes with four available storage variants. The 8GB/128GB model will retail for 3,999 yuan (~$595), 12GB/256GB model will retail for 4,800 yuan (~$714). The highest storage on this model, 16GB/512GB will retail for 5,500 yuan (~$820). There are two colour options on this device, Dark Knight and Deuterium transparent.

The Pro model comes with three storage options and a limited edition model. The least storage 12GB/256GB comes will retail for 5,299 yuan (~$790). As for the 16GB/512GB and 18GB/1TB models, they’d retail for 5,999 yuan (~$893) and 7,499 yuan (~$1,116) respectively. The Bumblebee limited edition is only available for the Pro model (16GB/512GB) and will retail for 6,499 yuan (~$970). This Red Magic series will compete with other gaming smartphones in the market for dominance in performance.
