Nothing Phone (2) will be manufactured in India by BYD Electronics

The Nothing Phone (2) smartphone will be released in July this year, after Nothing founder Carl Pei revealed the Nothing Phone (2) chip and battery, as well as some details about the camera and other components, and now Nothing says the new phone will be made locally in India.

According to a report by The Indian Express, the Nothing Phone (2) phone will be manufactured by BYD Electronics in Tamil Nadu, India, where the Nothing Phone (1) was also previously made.

The report adds that the Nothing Phone (2) will be Nothing’s most sustainable product, with “a carbon footprint of 53.45kg, more than 5kg less than the Nothing Phone (1),” and its components will be made from recycled materials and sustainable plastics. “It also includes “nine 100% recycled tin main circuit boards, 100% recycled copper foil main circuit boards, all 28 steel stampings made from more than 90% recycled steel, a total assembly plant powered by 100% renewable energy, and a body made from 100% recycled steel. The main assembly plant is powered by 100% renewable energy, and the body is made of aluminum frame.

The Nothing Phone (2) will be equipped with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, a 4700mAh battery, a 6.7-inch screen and support for three years of major Android updates and four years of security updates.
