Recently, Nothing founder Pei Yu in an interview with Forbes magazine revealed that Nothing Phone (2) will be available in the U.S. in July at the same time as the rest of the world, it is noted that Nothing Phone (1) entered the U.S. market only a few months after its global launch last year.

Pei Yu said the U.S. market is critical to Nothing’s success, and he hopes the Phone (2) will provide consumers with a true iPhone alternative. He said, “The U.S. is a very Apple-dominated market and there is no real choice for those looking for an alternative, which provides a great opportunity for Phone (2).” Pei Yu also confirmed that the Phone (2) will come with a 4700 mAh battery, which is 200 mAh more than the Phone (1)’s 4500 mAh. Although not the largest, it is still larger than the Samsung Galaxy S23’s 3900 mAh and the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max’s 4323 mAh.

Regarding the processor, Pei Yu has previously confirmed that the Phone (2) will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip that was introduced last year, instead of the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. He explained that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is a “proven processor” that has been “fully tested and optimized through numerous updates” since its launch last year. He said the chip will help deliver high-end performance without excessive cost, making the upcoming device more affordable. According to Pei Yu, Nothing will continue to focus on user experience rather than joining the configuration race, and the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will help the company achieve that goal.

The Nothing Phone (2) is expected to be officially released in a few weeks, and it remains to be seen if it will continue the success of its predecessor. The Nothing Phone (1) has reportedly sold 750,000 units worldwide.
