Nothing Phone (1) opens Android 13 Beta closed beta

For the past few weeks, Nothing founder Carl Pei has been teasing (1) the Nothing OS 1.5 update, which is based on Android 13. Now, Carl Pei has announced the launch of a closed beta version of Nothing OS based on Android 13. The goal is to release the Nothing OS 1.5 Beta open beta update within the next two weeks.

Nothing announced earlier that it will release an Android 13 stable update for the Nothing Phone (1) in early 2023. The company is targeting an Android 13 beta release for the Nothing Phone(1) by the end of 2022.

Since its launch, Nothing has been quite aggressive in rolling out firmware updates. The brand has managed to roll out as many as 8 software updates within four months of its launch. the Nothing Phone (1) is also one of the first smartphones to get Jio 5G support in India.

The Nothing Phone (1) is the company’s first smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chip. The smartphone comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 memory and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone comes with Android 12 pre-installed with NothingOS 1.0.

The Nothing Phone (1) offers 50MP dual rear cameras, including a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera and a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra wide-angle sensor. A 16-megapixel selfie camera is on the front. The smartphone features a 120Hz OLED display with 1200nits peak brightness (initially limited) and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

The Nothing Phone (1) is powered by a 4500mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging, as well as 15W Qi wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging.
