Nothing launcher beta is available on the Google Play Store, but not everyone can install it. Carl Pei the CEO of Nothing announced that his company will be moving into the smartphone manufacturing market. This move by Nothing will bring it into serious competition with firmly established brands, but this doesn’t seem to bother them anyway.

Nothing appears to be more than prepared to launch its first device, the Nothing Phone 1. It has even built its OS or Android skin, and to create awareness of this upcoming device, the company has released the Nothing launcher beta for selected devices. The devices that can install and test out this launcher are the Google Pixel 5 and 6 and Samsung Galaxy S21 and S22 series.

This launcher adds a Nothing-like touch to Android, the same fonts used in the Nothing website are also on the launcher. In a bid to stay clear of other Android skins, the Nothing launcher beta and eventually the Nothing OS will feature bespoke fonts, colours, graphical elements, and sounds. Carl Pei said that Nothing OS is “built on an open and seamless ecosystem that will effortlessly connect and integrate Nothing products and products from other world-leading brands.” That statement proves that Nothing has plans bigger than just smartphone production. The bigger picture for this company might just be an ecosystem which will encompass their smart home devices and so much more.

We can’t tell when the Nothing Phone 1 will launch, but we would love to see the Nothing OS in action. Specs of this device are not yet available, but we are certain that this device will be one of a kind!
