According to the latest GeekBench benchmark database information, the Nokia G42 5G phone has begun testing the Android 14 update and is expected to be available to users in the near future.

After upgrading to Android 14, the Nokia G42 5G phone achieved a single-core score of 752 points and a multi-core score of 1897 points, which are basically the same as the previous Android 13 version, indicating that the upgrade will not have a negative impact on performance.

HMD Global has not yet announced the Android 14 upgrade plan for Nokia brand phones. It is expected that phones including Nokia XR21, Nokia X30, Nokia G60 5G, Nokia G22 and G42 5G can be upgraded.

It was reported in September this year that HMD Global is expanding its product portfolio and launching phones with its own HMD brand, which may affect the update plan of existing Nokia-branded phones.

Ravi Kunwar, HMD Global’s vice president for India and Asia-Pacific, said the new HMD Global brand will be launched in the first half of 2024, with India being its main target market.

The company intends to build a comprehensive product ecosystem by launching various HMD-branded products such as smartphones, tablets, feature phones and IoT devices.
