Recently, NIO officially announced that its first “mass-produced” battery swap station in Europe has officially rolled off the production line at the NIO Energy Plant in Hungary, and has been sent to Germany for installation. This is not only an important step for NIO to deploy a charging and swapping network in Europe, but also shows that the brand also has manufacturing capabilities overseas.

It is understood that NIO’s second-generation power exchange facility is produced in Hungary. It adopts a modular design and has a total of 14 battery slots. During normal operation, 13 batteries will be on standby in the slot, and an empty slot will be used as a new and an old battery. use. According to the data provided by Weilai, the second-generation power exchange station can complete 312 battery replacement tasks within 24 hours, which is equivalent to 4.6 minutes for a piece, which is still counting the time for automatic parking.

The new generation of power exchange stations will provide efficient power exchange and energy replenishment services for the NIO ET7 in Europe, which is why its first launch will be in Germany. Some foreign friends have taken spy photos of the NIO ET7 road test in Europe before, and from the perspective of starting the layout of the power station, the new car should not be far from being launched in Germany.

According to NIO’s plan, more than 4,000 swap stations will be built by the end of 2025, of which more than 1,000 will be deployed outside China. That is, not long ago, Weilai announced that the 1100th power exchange station was officially put into operation in China.

In addition, NIO intends to further increase its investment in Hungary, such as establishing an operation center here to promote the brand’s strategic planning in the European market.
