Nio opened its first third-generation power exchange station today next to the Shangri-La Hotel in Haikou. 30% increase in service capacity.

The ES7 can be charged to a CLTC range of 400 km in 20 minutes with a 100-degree battery pack. The third-generation charging station also features a self-developed liquid-cooled charging gun cable that is more than half the weight and can be easily operated with one hand.

The third generation of the Nio station uses a new three-station collaborative operation mechanism, reducing the changeover time by 20%. The number of battery bays has increased to 21 and the number of daily services can reach 408, 30% higher than the second generation station. Equipped with two LIDAR and two Nvidia Orin X chips, the computing power of a single station reaches 508TOPS.

The third generation of the station also uses the world’s first, UE self-initiated HPC bi-directional high-power liquid-cooled power module, with a maximum efficiency of 98% and a charging and discharging power of 62.5 kilowatts. This greatly improves the efficiency of battery charging and discharging in the exchange station.

Li Bin, founder, chairman and CEO of Nio, announced that Nio will build 1,000 new stations in 2023, up from the original target of 400, and will build more than 2,300 stations in 2023. About 600 of them will be urban exchange stations, which will focus on third and fourth tier cities and counties with a certain user base but no exchange stations yet, and about 400 will be high-speed exchange stations, which will accelerate the layout of high-speed exchange networks in 9 vertical and 9 horizontal 19 city groups.
