The official Nintendo Customer Support Twitter feed tweeted today to remind gamers that condensation may form on the console if there is a sudden change in temperature where the console is placed. If condensation occurs, turn off the power and place it in a warm room until the water droplets dry.

Nintendo has also previously warned players that the Switch handheld if left unused and uncharged for a long period of time, may cause the lithium battery to deteriorate and not recharge, so players are encouraged to recharge their Switch at least once every six months.

According to the latest VGChartz estimates of console sales, the Nintendo Switch has sold over 118.2 million units worldwide as of December 3, 2022.

This has enabled the Switch to overtake Sony’s PS4 with 117.03 million units to take the number four spot in worldwide console sales. The top three are PlayStation 2 (PS2), Nintendo DS (DS) and Game Boy (GB).

Nintendo last year announced its financial results for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2022-2023 (April 1, 2022-June 30, 2022), showing that Nintendo sales for the quarter were 307.46 billion yen, down 4.7% year-on-year, and profits were 101.647 billion yen, down 15.1% year-on-year. In terms of sales, Nintendo sold 111.08 million Switch units and 863.59 million copies of the software as of the end of June 2022, with 3.43 million Switch units and 41.41 million copies of software sold in the quarter.
