Ryujinx is an open-source Nintendo Switch emulator written in C#, On November 26th, Ryujinx’s official blog announced that the emulator has been adapted to the Apple M series chip Mac.

Ryujinx officials said that Apple M series chip Mac devices can achieve a closer to native emulation experience than most gaming PCs, mainly due to the Apple M series chip and the Switch sharing the ARM synergy function. Ryujinx currently supports Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.

The Ryujinx supports macOS 12 “Monterey” and macOS 13 Ventura versions and is optimized specifically for Apple’s M-series chips.

ARM Virtual Machine Monitor – allows execution of native ARMv8 code without conversion. The overhead cost of emulating game code is almost completely eliminated, leveraging the full potential of the chip.

ARM64 JIT – ARM support has been added to the CPU JIT recompiler “ARMeilleure” for cases where the above VM manager does not work, and JIT performance is much higher than the potential of a regular x86 CPU.

A manual option to use JIT is provided for rare games where the hypervisor is not available.
