Developer Steve Moser dug into the iOS 17.4 Beta 1 update released by Apple today and discovered 8 new applications for the next generation of CarPlay in the code.

8 new apps added

According to foreign media reports and information from two developers, Aaron Perris and Steve Moser, a summary of the new CarPlay applications is as follows:
Auto Settings:

The app lets users manage paired iPhones and adjust vehicle settings.

Car Camera:

This application will display the vehicle’s rear-view camera footage.

Charge:

Mainly for electric vehicles, it displays information such as the car’s remaining battery power, charging status, and estimated battery charging time.

Climate:

This app controls your vehicle’s air conditioning system, allowing you to adjust the temperature, airflow, heated seats, heated steering wheel, and more.

Closures:

The app will show if any of the vehicle’s doors are open and may also display vehicle warning signs.

Media:

The app will offer FM and AM radio station control in CarPlay, as well as other media options like SiriusXM. It’s unclear whether SiriusXM will offer satellite connectivity or be limited to internet streaming. Users can choose from a list of music genres such as Top 40 and Rock.

Tire Pressure:

The app will display the air pressure in each of your vehicle’s tires and provide low-pressure, high-pressure and puncture warnings.
Trips:

The app will provide a variety of driving-related data, including the vehicle’s average speed, fuel or energy efficiency, total elapsed time and distance traveled, among others.

Added “Goodbye” screen

An image exposed in the iOS 17.4 beta shows that the next generation of CarPlay may display a “goodbye” screen after the driver turns off the vehicle:
