Mercedes-AMG released the new CLE 53 coupe. The new car will indirectly replace the discontinued E53 coupe.

The new AMG CLE 53 is expected to be launched in early 2024. The new car has been significantly upgraded on the basis of the standard CLE. It is not only more powerful, the exterior design is sportier, and the interior has also been improved.

The new car is powered by AMG’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six petrol engine, paired with an ISG electric motor, making it a mild-hybrid model. Engine output is 449 hp (330 kW) and maximum torque is 413 lb-ft (560 Nm), which increases to 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) with overboost activated for 12 seconds. It also features a second-generation integrated starter-generator, an essential component of the 48-volt mild-hybrid system. This adds 23 hp and 205 Nm of torque to the new car.

The new Mercedes-Benz AMG CLE53 coupe is matched with the AMG SpeedShift TCT 9G transmission and the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ four-wheel drive system. The official acceleration time from 0 to 62 mph is 4.2 seconds, and the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h or 270 km/h. Hour. The optional AMG Dynamic Plus package also brings two additional driving modes: Racing and Drift.

In terms of appearance, the CLE 53 adopts a new front bumper and AMG’s iconic Panamericana grille. Standard LED headlights are optionally equipped with AMG’s digital light function. Characteristic AMG exterior mirrors, wider front and rear fenders, redesigned rear bumper and rear spoiler underline its sporty character. Wheel diameter is 19 inches as standard, with 20-inch wheels available as an option.

Users can also opt for the AMG Optics package, which provides a larger diffuser, rear spoiler and front and rear aerodynamics.

To enhance the sporty look, the new car’s front track has been extended by 58 mm and the rear track has been extended by 75 mm, making the CLE 53 appear wider than the standard CLE model.

In terms of suspension system, the new car uses AMG’s Ride Control suspension, equipped with continuously variable dual-valve shock absorbers. In addition, the steering system has also been improved, adopting a new gear ratio and providing rear-wheel steering function, with a maximum rear wheel steering angle of up to 2.5 degrees.

It is noted that in the interior, there is a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel display in front of the driver and an 11.9-inch touch screen on the center console. An AMG Performance flat-bottom steering wheel is standard, wrapped in black leather and Alcantara. There’s also plenty of carbon fiber trim on the dashboard, red contrast stitching, seats wrapped in leather and microfiber, and a variety of leather and Nappa leather upholstery options. AMG also offers a set of performance seats.
