Suzuki recently displayed a new generation of Swift concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show, this car is called a concept car, but in fact, is already close to the production version and is expected to be officially released in 2024.
Swift was launched at the end of 2016 and received a minor facelift for 2020. The new-generation Swift retains some of the distinctive design elements of its predecessor, maintaining its original size and proportions. However, the entire body has been redesigned to improve aerodynamics.
The 2024 Suzuki Swift measures 3860 mm in length, 1695 mm in width and 1500 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2450 mm – figures that are almost identical to the current model.
Suzuki didn’t reveal much about the powertrain, just describing it as an efficient engine with low fuel consumption paired with a CVT transmission. Some foreign media spotted the car using a three-cylinder engine with a light hybrid system, which appears to be unrelated to the current 1.25-liter K12C four-cylinder. In addition to the electrified version, the new engine is also expected to be offered in a pure combustion engine version. There are also rumours of a “strong hybrid” version.
The production version of the 2024 Suzuki Swift is expected to debut in Japan at the end of this year, and it’s worth noting that since Suzuki is pulling out of the Chinese market in 2018, the new-generation Suzuki Swift will most likely have no connection with domestic consumers.
