New electric MINI revealed: BMW, Great Wall teamed up to build

Recently, overseas media revealed a set of test spy photos of the new MINI, which will be officially unveiled within this year at the earliest, and then will start selling in 2023. It is reported that the new car will be launched fuel version and a pure electric version of two, the latter will be produced by BMW and Great Wall’s joint venture company Beam Automobile, while the new car produced in China will not only supply Chinese consumers but also exported to overseas markets.

From the spy pictures, the pure electric version of the MINI is still taking the lovely route, come to have round headlights, quite cute, and the whole car design increased simplicity, body size is also expected to be smaller than the current model, become a real “MINI”, after the market is bound to be loved by many female consumers, especially young ladies.

It is worth noting that earlier this year, the domestic version of the new BMW MINI COOPER S electric version was also exposed, from which more effective information can be obtained.

The front of the car adopts a semi-closed grille design, and the headlight cluster has two horizontal light bands inside the upper and lower, which looks more cartoonish.

The interior is the highlight of the new car. Similar to the Tesla Model 3, it also does away with the traditional instrument panel, but has a HUD head-up display in front of the driver to facilitate the driver to check the speed, navigation and other information in real-time.

And unlike most of the vehicles currently on sale in the market, the new car uses a circular center screen, which is obviously a further change from the current MINI scheme.

As for the power system, there is no more news for the time being, the main model is expected to use a front single motor with a range between 300-400 km, with the possibility of a stronger dual-motor high-performance version.

After the new car goes on sale, it may compete with the smart elf #1 built by Mercedes-Benz and Geely. With a more naive design and compact size, the pure electric MINI may be more popular.
