New BMW M4 CS expected to be released in May

According to BMW Blog citing sources, the highly anticipated new BMW M4 CS is about to be launched. The high-performance coupe is based on the recently updated M4 and is expected to be released in May.

From all indications, BMW will equip the M4 CS with its signature 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine. It is reported that the engine will output the same 543 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque as the M4 CSL, and will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission developed by the brand. Unlike its predecessor, the new M4 CS will feature an xDrive all-wheel drive system.

Referring to the weight reduction plan of the M3 CS, the M4 CS may also reduce the weight of the body through extensive use of carbon fiber reinforced plastic materials (such as roof, hood, rear diffuser and other parts) to further improve fuel economy and handling flexibility.

It is noticed that the new M4 CS was previously photographed testing at the Nurburgring track and other places, but BMW cleverly concealed details such as the upgraded front bumper and small spoiler. According to reports, the M4 CS will be based on the all-new M4 launched earlier this year and introduce a series of mid-cycle upgrades, such as upgraded headlights, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and a new display.

BMW will begin production of the new M4 CS in July and will limit production to just a few thousand units.
