MSI Mortar B760M Max motherboard to go live with one-click cooling and overclocking feature

0

The MSI B660M Max and this year’s latest B760M Max are equipped with clock generators that can overclock processors such as the i5-12400 that do not support overclocking. According to MSI sources, the series of motherboards with onboard OC engine will soon support one-click cooling and one-click overclocking functions.

The main difference between the B chipset and the Z chipset is not only the lack of CPU overclocking capability, the B chipset also lacks CEP current overload protection, resulting in a drop in CPU performance once the voltage is adjusted down. The CPU’s power consumption is directly related to the load and voltage, the higher the voltage the higher the power consumption and temperature, so many people will try the minimum stable voltage when overclocking. b-chipset due to the lack of CEP function, so in general with the 13th generation Core CPU will have higher voltage and temperature problems.

Therefore, MSI will introduce this new feature which will allow the CPU to maintain or even improve performance at lower voltages.

In terms of effect, the one-click cool down function can reduce CPU temperature by 5-6 degrees Celsius, and the CPU runtime score will be slightly improved. One-click overclocking can improve the score by about 2% while the temperature remains the same.

This feature is not only available for B660M and B760M Max series motherboards, but also supports Z690 and Z790 motherboards.
