Mozilla issued a press release in February this year that it would start a major reworking of its email client Thunderbird.
We plan to enable a new look and interactive experience in the 115 release in July, designed to provide a simple and clean interface for "new" users, with more customizable options through a flexible and adaptable interface to allow veteran users to maintain the familiarity they prefer.
Since early 2020, the development of Thunderbird has been handled by MZLA Technologies, a subsidiary of Mozilla, and has since transitioned to a community-driven project. The email client is now gaining popularity as the Firefox browser evolves.
