Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple to mass produce iPhone SE 4 phones as early as 2025

Analyst Jeff Pu said yesterday that Apple plans to release the iPhone SE equipped with a self-developed custom-designed 5G baseband chip in 2025. TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo acknowledged the news in his latest tweet and shared more details.

Ming-Chi Kuo’s tweet is as follows:

Update on iPhone SE 4 Research and Predictions:

  1. I previously predicted that the iPhone SE 4 will be an extension of the iPhone 14. However, my latest investigation shows that this extended model may be an engineering sample machine, which is only for the technical and mass production verification of Apple’s self-developed 5G baseband chip, and there is currently no mass production and sales plan.
  2. I believe that the mass production schedule of Apple’s self-developed 5G baseband chip will largely depend on the test results of this engineering sample machine, so the mass production schedule may take until 2025 at the earliest, and if the test status is not as expected, The mass production schedule may even be delayed to 2026 or later.
  3. What kind of advanced process will be used for mass production of Apple’s self-developed 5G baseband chip depends on the mass production schedule.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously said that after Apple restarted the development of the fourth-generation iPhone SE, the model is expected to be equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED display and a 5G baseband chip designed by Apple. He said that the chip will be manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process and will only support the Sub-6GHz frequency band, and will not support mmWave initially.
