Custom RGB colors are now supported on the Xbox buttons on Microsoft’s Xbox Elite 2 wireless controller. While platforms like Steam already offer color options for the Xbox buttons on the Elite 2 controller, Microsoft now has native support for such colors on its own Xbox consoles in a September update released today.
Xbox users can choose from 16 million different shades and even different saturation levels from the Xbox button on the Elite 2 grip, and today marks the first day that Microsoft is shipping its new $129.99 Xbox Elite 2 core grip.
In addition to the customization of the controller, September’s Xbox dashboard update includes a redesigned library view with games, apps and more standalone sections, and the ability to now choose different default install locations for games and apps on the Xbox console.
If you’ve been a user of the Xbox S/X series console party and chat feature, noise suppression, a core feature, is now being made available to Xbox One and Windows 10/11 users. Enabling noise suppression in party chat eliminates annoying clicks, background music and breathing sounds. It is similar to Discord’s Krisp audio filter and NVIDIA’s Broadcast app, allowing PC gamers to filter out background noise.
