According to the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO) publicized list, Microsoft recently obtained a technology patent, can be in the virtual world, dynamic mapping of the user’s limb joint movements, so as to further improve the immersive experience.

Microsoft’s technology, if it can be applied to the headset device, then the user can create a surreal virtual self, which can improve the immersive experience in different scenarios such as socializing and gaming.

According to the patent description, a brief summary of the patent works as follows:

Receive data about the location of different body parts of the human user through sensors.

Set relevant rules to connect the virtual model and the headset wearer (mapping constraints).
Position data and mapping constraints are used to simultaneously estimate the pose of the model and the target.

The technology also uses a machine trained to optimize the pose, which is trained using positional data labeled with the correct model representation.

Finally, it displays the target representation and its pose as a virtual representation of the human user.
