Microsoft has issued a press release through its official blog to share its developments and achievements in the field of environmental protection in anticipation of Earth Day 2023. Microsoft said it is strengthening its cooperation with PC manufacturers to use more recycled materials to make laptops.
The laptop models that use recycled materials as follows:
HP Dragonfly G4 ultra-light laptop: 90% of magnesium used is recycled
Acer TravelMate Spin P4 laptop: 34.5% of the plastic used is recycled
Lenovo ThinkPad Z 13 laptop: 75% recycled aluminum
Panasonic Toughbook 40 rugged laptop with modular design, user upgradeable and repairableMicrosoft has also authorized a refurbisher (MAR) program to recycle older PCs and install new Microsoft systems after restoration. Microsoft refurbished 4.8 million PCs in 2021.
Windows 11 also features power-saving features that allow laptops to extend battery life, thereby reducing the number of times they need to be recharged.
