Microsoft Surface Pro 8 gets January 2023 firmware update: Improves security, optimizes performance

Microsoft will end support for the Surface Pro 8 next year, but before then the model will continue to receive firmware updates from Microsoft. Microsoft recently pushed a January 2023 firmware update to the Surface Pro 8, mainly to improve security and optimize performance.

You cannot uninstall or roll back to the previous version after upgrading the firmware.

After installing the update, reboot your device to complete the installation process. To restart your device, select the Start button and then select Power > Restart.

Be sure to note that the latest firmware is rolling out to devices running Windows Update 20H2 or later as of October 10, 2020.
