Microsoft Surface Pro 7 pushes January firmware update: Improved Windows Hello login

Microsoft released a January 2023 firmware update for Surface Pro 7 laptops, and Surface Pro 7 users can download the new firmware from Windows Update. The latest version brings improved Windows Hello, better compatibility with third-party docks, general stability enhancements, and various bug fixes that could lead to blue screens of death.

Addresses system camera performance and stability issues, and resolves system blue screen of death issues.

Improved Windows Hello login stability.

Improved connection to third-party docks.

The Surface Pro 7 is equipped with Intel’s 10th generation Core i3 / i5 / i7 processors, using a 10nm process, and ushered in a Type-C interface. Surface Pro 7 is now in its final year of support. Microsoft plans to stop releasing firmware updates on October 22, 2023.
