Microsoft recently launched the December firmware update for Surface Duo 1/2, after the update system version number 2022.817.1. the same as the November update, this month’s update is still focused on fixing system vulnerabilities and improving the security of the device. Therefore, no new features were introduced in this firmware update.
According to Microsoft’s official update log, this update includes the content of the November Android security bulletin, but no other fixes and improvements have been made to the device. It is worth noting that the current official update log only shows that the first-generation Surface Duo has been updated, and Surface Duo 2 has not announced the December update log.
The updated version of Surface Duo is 2022.819.16, and it brings a security update on December 1st.
Users can download updates for Surface Duo / Surface Duo 2 via Settings > System Update. However, it should be noted that users cannot downgrade again after the update.
