Microsoft releases Edge 109.0.1518.61 update to fix special characters issue

The new version of Microsoft Edge 109.0.1518.49 was released on the 13th of this month, and Microsoft released another stable update on the 19th of this month, with the version number rising to 109.0.1518.61. This update focuses on fixing the vowel change character printing problem.

The new version of Edge 109.0.1518.61 includes the latest security update from the Chromium project and explicitly fixes the CVE-2023-21719 vulnerability, according to the official changelog published by Microsoft.

The vulnerability has a CVSS:3.1 rating of 6.5 /5.7 and allows attacks to be launched via specially crafted URLs. If a user clicks on this link, an attacker could bypass the Edge browser’s autofill protection feature.

Edge 109.0.1518.61 also fixes a printing issue in versions .49 through .55 that causes the print preview to jam when printing documents that contain special characters such as vowel changes.
