The new version brings enhanced privacy thanks to TLS-encrypted Client Hello or ECH, in addition to useful features related to the application launcher and security fixes for several known vulnerabilities.

Meanwhile, in Edge Canary channels, the latest version of which is 110.0.1544.0, as is usually the case, these insider channels can reveal exciting upcoming features. Twitter user Leopeva64 discovered a new flag in Edge Canary 110.0.1544.0, dubbed “Project Kodiak”, which is set to be enabled by default.

"Project Kodiak

Edge users will have a better browser experience in their personal and work lives - Mac, Windows, Linux"

Below is a screenshot of the flag.

It’s hard to speculate on the specifics of the project at this point, and on the surface it appears that Microsoft is working to improve the overall browsing experience of Edge, whether on Windows, Mac or Linux, although it remains to be seen what aspects of the browser are being improved. For example, there may be UI revisions to improve ease of navigation, or possibly performance enhancements.
