Microsoft Phone Link app on Windows 10 and Windows 11, send and receive iMessage on PC

0

After announcing it in April this year, Microsoft today officially opened a new version of the Phone Link app for Win10 and Win11 users worldwide, which can send and receive Apple iMessage messages on PC.

With the Phone Link app on Win10 and Win11 and the Link to Windows app on iOS, iPhone users can make and receive phone calls, send and receive text messages and check notifications directly on their computers.

This means that Win11 can use iMessage indirectly, that there are some limitations, such as no support for group chat, pictures, videos and history.

Another thing worth noting is that there is no way to distinguish between iMessage and SMS text messages on the PC side, as all messages are displayed in the same grey bubble.

Microsoft says the iPhone must be running iOS 14 or later, and the feature is not available for iPad or Mac.
