Microsoft is developing Surface Earbuds 2 wireless headphones: codename Ella,

Microsoft may have abandoned the Surface Earbuds wireless headphones. The TWS headphones have been online for more than two years and are currently priced at RMB 1588 in the Microsoft China Store, with both glacier white and graphite gray colors showing out of stock. After the release of this headset, Microsoft rarely provides firmware updates to Surface Earbuds, so there are still some buggy bugs that can affect the experience.

According to Windows Central, Microsoft is developing a successor to the Surface Earbuds, tentatively called Surface Earbuds 2, codenamed Ella, which was previously expected to launch by the end of 2022, but Microsoft has yet to release this new Surface Earbuds product, and it’s unclear whether it’s been skipped or axed.

I hope Microsoft can polish and finally launch Surface Earbuds 2 wireless headphones, and bring active noise cancellation, better design, wireless charging, etc. because this is almost the standard feature of wireless headphones at the $200 price point now.

Microsoft Surface Earbuds’ initial wireless headphones can provide 8 hours of battery life, with a charging case of up to 24 hours, a single ear weighs 7.2 grams, supports a 20 ~ 20 kHz frequency range, with 13.6mm audio unit, with dual microphones, support for Bluetooth 5.0, with IPX4 level of dust and water resistance.
