Microsoft introduces a convenient start-up entry for Xbox cloud games for Edge Bing Search

0

Over the past few months, Microsoft has made a number of ongoing developments to its cloud gaming service. This includes allowing players to launch the experience by clicking the Play button directly from the Bing search results page. The catch is that the service only covers games on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions and players need to access Bing on the Microsoft Edge browser (rather than Google Chrome).

Given that Microsoft has not yet made an official announcement, it is unclear how large the launch will be and which market regions it will cover.

For those interested, try searching for Fortnite on Edge via Bing to see if the game is available in your region (a “Play” button is located next to the title).

Clearly, Microsoft wants to make products like Bing / Edge more appealing to the Xbox gaming community, especially for those looking to redeem rewards by earning usage points.

In June, Microsoft also partnered with Samsung to bring Xbox apps to 2022 Samsung Smart TVs (which went live in July).

In May, it was reported that Microsoft was developing a standalone game streaming device called Keystone that would allow players to connect to different screens (TVs/monitors) to experience Xbox cloud games and even access streaming apps like Netflix/Hulu.
