Microsoft executive: Google Bard is far behind Bing Chat, but it’s good enough

Google recently launched its Bard chatbot and opened it up for public testing earlier this week. Microsoft, however, released Bing Chat a few weeks ago and opened it to the public. So what does Microsoft have to say about this up-and-coming competitor?

Earlier today, Mikhail Parakhin, head of Microsoft’s advertising and web services division, tweeted a question posed by a user. The user asked him what he thought of Bard and whether he agreed with others that “it’s incredibly poor compared to Bing AI”?

Parakhin replied that in his opinion, Google Bard was “way behind” compared to Bing Chat. He added that “considering the small amount of computing resources they have” and the fact that “they are about six months behind the state of the art in terms of core machine learning algorithms,” it is “impressive” that they have been able to achieve such results. It’s “impressive” that they were able to achieve such results. We are the “little guys” and we have learned never to underestimate Google.

One advantage that Bard has over Bing Chat, is that it doesn’t appear to have a daily or per-round limit on the number of chats. Microsoft set these limits shortly after releasing Bing Chat, and currently allows up to 150 chats per day and up to 15 chats per session.
