The Microsoft Edge desktop browser has surpassed the 11 percent mark in terms of share, according to market research firm Statcounter’s November 2022 statistics. The Chromium-based Edge browser now accounts for 11.17 percent, an increase of 0.31 percentage points compared to the previous month. Edge’s market share was 9.52 percent a year ago, up 1.65 percentage points.

Google Chrome is still in the leading position, sitting in first place with 66.13% (down 0.36 percentage points). Apple’s Safari is third with 9.62% (up 0.26 percentage points), Firefox is fourth with 7.1% (up 0.05 percentage points), and Opera is fifth with 3.3% (down 0.29 percentage points).

The report shows that 0.77 percent of desktop users are still using Internet Explorer, and some are still sticking with the former king of desktop browsers, though Microsoft is trying to recommend they upgrade to Edge.
