Microsoft announced today at its Build 2023 developer conference that the Workspaces feature in the Edge browser is in public beta, inviting all Edge browser users to test it.

Users can access it by clicking on this link in the Edge browser, which is attached page as follows:

Browse the Web together

Get More Work Done Online

You and your group can browse the same set of tabs on different devices and synchronize them at any time.

Stay up-to-date

Live updates to tabs and favorites in the Edge workspace so everyone stays on the same page.

Stay focused on what matters

Stay focused while working on specific tasks, or connect different groups by separating open tabs into unique Edge workspaces.

Workspaces can be used either individually or as groups to help manage projects and keep sites and files in one location.

Example:

  • Instead of sharing multiple project links back and forth with workgroups, create an Edge workspace where the project’s website and working files open as browser tabs and are shared with groups using a single link. Report on the tabs in real time so that everyone can stay on the same page using the Edge workspace.
  • If you are working on multiple projects, you can create an Edge workspace to organize the open tabs for each tab. Whenever you want to work on a project, simply open the project’s Edge workspace to open all your sites and work files in one location.
