Microsoft has recently announced a new DirectX12 GPU optimization update that introduces a technology called GPU Upload Heaps. This technology, along with Resizable-BAR, allows the CPU and GPU to access VRAM memory at the same time.

This update improves DX12 game frame rates, reduces system memory usage, and eliminates the need to copy data from the CPU to the GPU. Interested in This DX12 update by upgrading the Agility SDK.

The DX12 update reduces data transfer, and the CPU no longer needs to keep copies of data on the system RAM and GPU memory, thus significantly reducing the game memory and CPU footprint.

The new feature is already supported by Intel drivers in version 531.41 and higher of the NVIDIA Game Ready and Studio driver, 31.0.101.4255 or later. In the case of AMD GPUs, developers must consult their AMD Alliance Manager to obtain a supported driver.
