Microsoft Announces All 2022 Razer Blade 14 Laptops Can Enable Pluton Security Chip

Microsoft announced today that the 2022 Razer Blade 14 notebook will be updated to enable the Pluton chip. The Razer Blade 14 Mercury Edition is also getting an update, and this update also upgrades the two Type-C USB-3.2 Gen 2 ports to USB-4, which means you can now connect even more devices.

Microsoft’s Pluton security processor is a chip-to-cloud security technology with the principle of zero trust at its core. Microsoft Pluton provides hardware-based root of trust, security tokens, security attestation, and cryptographic services. Pluton technology is a combination of a security subsystem (a part of a system on a chip (SoC) and Microsoft-authored software running on this integrated security subsystem).

Microsoft has not rolled out support for the Pluton chip through Windows Update. Eligible users can contact Razer Support to download the update, Microsoft said.
