Microsoft admits there is an issue with the Windows 11 October optional update

0

Microsoft recently updated the Win11 October optional update KB5031455 support document, admitting that in a multi-monitor environment, there may be a problem with Copilot on the taskbar. Due to this known issue, Microsoft has disabled Copilot for users on affected devices until a fix is available.

Microsoft has updated the known issue of KB5031455:

For Windows devices that use multiple monitors, after installing this update, when trying to use the preview version of Copilot in Windows, desktop icons may unexpectedly move between monitors, or other icons may not be aligned.

To prevent users from encountering such issues, the preview version of Copilot in Windows has been disabled in multi-monitor environments.

Microsoft is currently working on a solution and more details will be provided in an upcoming update.

Another known issue related to this update is an incorrect BitLocker drive encryption error being triggered due to a reported issue in some managed Windows environments.
