The company has previously announced an investment of US$800 million to set up a semiconductor assembly, testing, marking and packaging (ATMP) factory in Sanad, Gujarat, India. Indian officials say more such facilities will come up after the first plant becomes operational.

Construction of the facility is expected to begin this year, with the first phase expected to be operational by the end of 2024, and India expects its first locally produced chips to be available in December 2024.
