As we all know, PCIe 5.0 SSDs have generally used active or passive heat sinks due to their high heat generation, so can they still be used without the heat sink?
According to ComputerBase’s test, the Micron Crucial T700 PCIe 5.0 SSD can still be used without the radiator, but the performance will drop to the level of HDD mechanical hard disk.
As can be seen from the figure, Phison E26 master control will change the strategy when the SSD temperature rises to 86 degrees Celsius, and the read and write speed drops to about 101 MB/s.
However, not all PCIe 5.0 SSDs adopt this solution. ComputerBase also tested the CORSAIR MP700, and the temperature reached 86 degrees Celsius without cooling, which caused the computer to blue screen of death.
