Meta: Allows users to post their NFT collections on Instagram and Facebook

Meta announced today that it is allowing users to post their NFT holdings on Instagram and Facebook. Users can connect to wallet applications such as Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet and Dapper Wallet to display digital collections based on Ethereum, Polygon and Flow.

In a blog post update posted today, Meta wrote: “As we continue to roll out digital collections on Facebook and Instagram, we have begun to enable people to post digital collections they own on Facebook and Instagram. This will allow people to connect their digital wallets to both of these apps in order to share their digital collections.”

Since May, the company has been experimenting with NFT on both of its platforms. what Meta has done so far in the digital collectibles space.

March 2022: Mark Zuckerberg says NFT is coming to Instagram.

May 2022: Instagram starts testing NFT with some creators in May.

June 2022: Zuckerberg invites more users to join the test and says NFT is coming to Facebook.

June 2022: Facebook begins showing digital collections with a limited number of U.S. creators.

July 2022: Meta rolls out NFT support on Instagram in 100 countries/regions.

Today’s test is just an extension of those steps. However, it is unclear if the NFT launch feature will be available for all markets. Foreign tech media TechCrunch has asked Meta for clarification but has not yet received a response.
