Recently, we learned from Mercedes-Benz officials that the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class standard wheelbase sports version (W214) will be officially unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show. Previously, the official announced that the price of the car in Hong Kong, China was HK$617,000-636,000 (equivalent to RMB 576,000-594,000).

Referring to the model of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Axis Sports Edition released in Hong Kong, China, the styling is still divided into two types: the standard luxury version (Exclusive) and the sports version (AMG Line). The details have a new energy design. The elements are quite similar to the EQ series. At the same time, the high-performance LED headlights pay tribute to the double round “peanut lights” of the previous generation. They adopt a wavy design and provide DIGITAL LIGHT as an option.

Viewed from the side, two independent waist lines outline the sporty feel of the E-Class, and the balanced body proportions are extremely eye-catching. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4949/1880/1468mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2961mm. The new car is also equipped with a hidden door handle design, which reduces the wind resistance coefficient to 0.23Cd.

The new car adopts a through-type taillight design to cater to the current aesthetic. At the same time, its internal structure adopts a new shape similar to the brand LOGO, and the star pattern is very recognizable when lit. In addition, the surround exhaust decoration under the new car is very thick, and combined with the diffuser design, it shows a strong sense of sportiness.

The interior of the new car adopts a large-size MBUX Superscreen triple screen design and a three-spoke steering wheel similar to the “dragonfly” design. It is equipped with the third-generation MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system, which applies a newly developed compatibility layer and is equipped with more third-party vehicle equipment. Applications enable a richer content ecosystem, such as: browsing Douyin, playing games, or using the in-car camera to enter a video conference, etc. At the same time, the new E-Class supports digital car keys, allowing owners to turn on or off the vehicle using only their smartphones.

In addition, the new E-class is the first to introduce the “scene” function. For example, a customer sets the trigger condition of a “scene” function to “below 12 degrees”. When the vehicle detects that the ambient temperature is lower than the trigger value, the seat will be automatically turned on. Turn on the heat and adjust the ambient lighting to a warm color. The new E-Class also provides a “move with the music” function, which works together with the audio system to automatically change the interior lighting system according to the rhythm of the music. With the 21-speaker Burmester sound system, the audio-visual experience has been upgraded again.

The MB.OS operating system is expected to be available in cars. This system can fully open up vehicle functions, including infotainment, intelligent driving assistance, vehicle driving and comfort functions, etc., and can also achieve virtual reality, naked-eye 3D and other effects. In terms of driving assistance, the new car is equipped with attention assist system, active braking assist system, active lane keeping assist system, smart parking with reversing image, etc.

In terms of power, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class standard-axle version will be equipped with a 2.0T+48V mild hybrid system, and the transmission system is matched with a 9G-TRONIC gearbox. The acceleration time from 0-100km/h is 7.5 seconds, and the top speed can reach 240km/h. The official fuel consumption is 6.4-7.3L/100km.

The new car is also equipped with an air suspension (AIRMATIC) system with adaptive continuously adjustable damping system plus (ADS+) and a rear-wheel active steering system. The new E-Class equipped with 4MATIC has a turning radius of 5.5m, and in the rear-wheel drive version, the turning radius is 5.4m. The number of full turns of the steering wheel has also been reduced. In the rear-wheel drive version, it only takes 2.2 full turns of the steering wheel. This change is conducive to maneuvering in the city.
