Mercedes-Benz cars were found to push ads and block the navigation screen

It’s okay for TVs to have ads and mobile phones to have ads, as they don’t affect life safety, but it’s a different story when it comes to pushing ads on cars. Recently, after the Volkswagen electric car was exposed to push ads, the Mercedes Benz car machine also appeared in ads. From the exposed pictures, this Mercedes-Benz center screen appears to promote its own electric car EQE, the center screen for the CarPlay navigation interface, and the ads have produced a certain amount of obscurity.

You can also see that although the ad offers an X that can be turned off, it is positioned to the right and is small in size, making it a little difficult to click on it without distracting yourself while driving.

There has been no official response from Mercedes-Benz regarding the pushing of ads on the car.

Of course, Mercedes-Benz is not the first car company with such a tawdry operation, the third generation of Haval H6, Wei brand Mocha, as well as the latest Volkswagen ID.6 have appeared in this situation, and some netizens have flirted with the idea that you have to charge your membership to drive in the future, otherwise, you will have to watch a minute of advertising to start the vehicle.

So is there really nothing that can be done to curb such “rogue” behavior by car companies? The good news is that the Internet Information Office has issued the “Regulations on the Administration of Internet Pop-up Information Pushing Services”, which came into effect on September 30.

It is clearly stipulated that “to protect the rights and interests of users, to clearly inform users of the specific form, content frequency and cancellation channels of pop-up information pushing services by service agreements, to fully consider user experience, to scientifically plan the frequency of pushing, not to make unreasonable differences between ordinary users and member users pushing, not to interfere with or influence users in any form to close pop-up windows, pop-up information The identity of the provider of the pop-up information pushing service should be prominently marked”.

Unfortunately, however, there are currently no regulations in place to restrict pop-up advertising specifically for car centre screens.
