MediaTek released the Dimensity 8050 processor today, but this is not a new processor because it is basically the same as the Dimensity 1300 and 1200.

The chip is manufactured using TSMC’s 6-nanometer process, integrates a 5G modem, and supports 5G dual-card functionality. The Dimensity 8050 has an eight-core CPU, four of which are powerful Arm Cortex-A78 cores with a maximum frequency of 3GHz, and the other four are energy-efficient Arm Cortex-A55 cores. In addition, the Dimensity 8050 is also equipped with a nine-core Arm Mali-G77 GPU, supports four-channel LPDDR4x memory and dual-channel UFS 3.1 storage, and supports a display with a maximum resolution of 2520x1080px and a maximum refresh rate of 168Hz.

The Dimensity 8050 supports cameras with up to 200 megapixels and can shoot 4K HDR video. The Dimensity 8050 also utilizes the multi-core AI processor APU 570 to implement functions such as AI noise reduction, AI exposure, and AI object tracking, improving image quality and accuracy. In addition, Dimensity 8050 also supports HDR10+ video playback and AV1 hardware decoding.

The Dimensity 8050 has been installed in the just-released Transsion Camon 20 Premier 5G phone.
