LG Partners with Tenstorrent to Develop Dedicated Chips for TVs and Cars

According to Reuters, LG and Canadian startup, Tenstorrent have cooperated to develop RISC-V-based architecture and AI technology for smart TVs, cars and data centers.

David Bennett, general manager of Tenstorrent, said that LG will initially use Tenstorrent’s AI chip design to develop its own chips, and will follow up with larger-scale strategic and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Here is the background of Tenstorrent, which was founded in 2016. The members of the company’s start-up team have more than ten years of industry experience and have worked in chip companies such as AMD, Intel, ARM, and Altera.

Ljubisa Bajic serves as the company’s CEO and chief architect, having led power architecture design at AMD and Tegra system architecture design at Nvidia.

In addition, chip god Jim Keller joined the company in 2021. He worked at Apple for four years, dedicated to A4 and A5 design; then returned to AMD for two years, served as the company’s vice president and chief core architect, responsible for the new generation of CPU architecture K12 and Zen; in June 2020, Keller left I have worked for Intel for two years.
