According to the research firm, LG Electronics dominates the European OLED TV market with a 65.8 percent share, much higher than other manufacturers and more than three times that of Sony, which ranks No. 2 with a 17 percent market share. In 3rd place is Philips, with a market share of 11%.

The research firm’s data also shows that Europe is the world’s largest TV market. Of the 213.5 million TVs sold worldwide last year, 23 percent were in the European market, nearly a quarter.

The research firm’s survey found that European users have a higher preference for high-end TVs priced at more than $1,500, which has driven sales of OLED TVs with better displays and higher prices steadily up in the European market, reaching 2.9 million units last year, accounting for 44 percent of OLED TVs sold worldwide. This year’s sales are expected to reach 3.4 million units, up 17 percent year-over-year.

LG Electronics has launched OLED TVs with screen sizes of 42 inches, 48 inches, 55 inches, 65 inches, 77 inches, 83 inches and 88 inches. At the International Consumer Electronics Show (IFA 2022) in Berlin starting this Friday, they will also showcase a 97-inch OLED TV, which will be the world’s largest OLED TV in terms of screen size, and is expected to be available in the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter, with its holiday shopping season, is the peak season for consumer electronics and home appliance consumption.
